Get On Your Bikes And Ride.
Does something feel a little different about today? Not sure to what extent it affects you, but today is the last “new music Tuesday” before the record industry makes a global switch to Friday release dates next week.
It's a move that'll allow everyone in the world to start streaming albums the same day moving forward.
One thing that won't be changing next week — or anytime soon, for that matter — is the daily release date of these here things to do today posts. You'll still be getting one of these suckers every week day for as long as we have anything to say about it. — Cory Graves
mewithoutyou at Dada
Unpredictable and full of surprises, Philadelphia-based post-hardcore outfit mewithoutyou rages on with it's sixth full length to date Pale Horses . Claimed by Noisey, as the outfit's best album yet, the live performances thereof will only add to the mystery and appeal. — Evan Henry
Little Hurricane at Cambridge Room
Stop me if you've heard this one before, but these guys are a “dirty blues”/rock duo with a male vocalist/guitarist and female drummer. The slightly more original Young Buffalo opens. — CG
The Picturebooks at The Prophet Bar
When not fixing up old motorcycles in their spare time, the members of German garage rock duo The Picturebooks apply their tinkering skills to old thrift shop guitars, with which they use to make pure American psych-tinged rock 'n' roll. These guys also try their damndest to make sure their brand of blues rock pastiche doesn't quite sound like the countless others that cop the same formula, though that's admittedly a pretty herculean task. — CG
Lip Sync Legends at So&So's
Even if you don't make it a regular habit to catch Jimmy Fallon's late night talk show, you've surely seen video from one of his epic lip sync battle segments the next morning on the interwebs. We can't promise what you'll see at So & So's tonight will be quite as entertaining as Joseph Gordon Levitt mouthing along to Nicki Minaj's “Superbass,” but the first eight people to sign up for this lip sync battle will be eligible to win a $250 cash prize just the same. — CG
