2B R Not 2B?
Yesterday, a nine-foot alligator was spotted in a drainage ditch at Lewisville Lake. Given all the crazy rains of late, we wouldn't be surprised if there weren't more of these suckers hiding out elsewhere all over town.
You shouldn't let the perceived danger of a would-be gator attack stop you from hitting the town tonight, though, as most gator experts agree they naturally try to avoid human contact.
And, besides, we've checked out the following spots and can attest they're 100 percent gator-free. — Evan Henry
Great Lake Swimmers at Dada
Built upon frontman Tony Dekker's melodic folk rock songs, Canadian pop quintet Great Lake Swimmers dropped the acclaimed A Forest of Arms full-length just months ago. Weather Station opens. If the chill vibes suit you, it's all yours. — EH
Memento at Sundown (Free)
If you don't remember Memento, that's probably somewhat by design. Let us just remind you that it's probably one of Guy Pearce's best roles, and its storytelling through a non-linear chronology makes this film fresh even all these years later. — Diamond Victoria
The Compleat Wrks of Wllm Shkspr (abridged) [revised] at Samuell Grand Amphitheater
2B R not 2B? Taking a cue from the whole “too long, didn't read” phenomenon, the actors at this Shakespearean production have condensed all 37 of the bard's plays into a hilarious 97 minutes of slapstick gold. — DV
Way Gay Sing-Along at Alamo Drafthouse
Boots, hair, Queen! Alamo is having its “Way Gay” sing-along tonight. Confetti and glitter will fall and you'll be on the edge of glory with Lady Gaga and videos of artists who performed during Austin's Pride weekend. — DV
