Taste So Good.
Recently, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) proposed a bill that would require all employers to give their full-time employees 10 days paid vacation every year.
That's all well and good, but, according to most research out there, the majority of Americans aren't even using their vacation time as is. And when we do, experts say, we're constantly checking emails via our phones and whatnot, and not really even truly enjoying our time off.
Even if you do have to work at some point today, try to set aside a little time to unplug, check out and smell the roses this busy Tuesday in North Texas. It may not be a quote-unquote vacation, but here's a few places to “get away” this evening. — Cory Graves
D'Angelo & The Vanguard at The Bomb Factory
D'Angelo has been around since the early '90s but only just released his surprise third studio album last December — or, y'know, just late enough in the year to make music critics everywhere regret putting out their year-end lists before having the opportunity to give him the No. 1 nod. Now the son of a preacher man has come to share the lost gospel of R&B in Dallas. — Diamond Victoria

Decide headlines after sets from Hate Eternal, Black Crown Initiate, Lorna Shore, Svart Crown and Dead Rising. That's a whole lot of metal right there. — Evan Henry

Ten Foot Beast at Crown and Harp (Free)
Now that Spookeasy is a distant memory, the band's drummer, Adam Locklear, has more recently delved back into his heavy roots with his current outfit, Ten Foot Beast. Locklear, you might recall, previously headed up the math-tinged hardcore outfit Rocket Arm, one of the more criminally underrated loud acts in town. You can check out Ten Foot Beast's debut here. Bare Mountain, Future Self and Load-In also perform — CG
