Straight up: I did not like Mad Max: Fury Road.
More specifically, I just don't like the kind of movie that Mad Max: Fury Road is. I fully acknowledge that, as those kinds of movies go, this one was great.
But, listen, I still didn't like it.
I know I'm in the minority here. Many others love this film. So I was a little wary of recording a podcast wherein I voiced my negative opinions of this movie.
But then I heard from some people who wanted me to talk about it, in spite of the fact that I told them I wasn't a fan. So I decided to split the difference: Instead of me just slamming this film by myself, I brought along two people who loved it — my friend Chris Delp and previous podcast guest Skyler Thiot — to tell me why.
They do a good job of doing that throughout this podcast. I'm willing to admit that I wasn't so great at crystallizing my own thoughts on the matter — not until the latter half of our discussion, at least.
But the results are pretty entertaining, regardless, if only because, no matter what these guys have to say, I remain unconvinced at why I should care about this film at all.
