Off Site Kitchen Moves Shop, And Dallas Gets A Taco Festival.

Welcome to The Spread, our weekly feature that aims to share all the area restaurant, food and beverage industry news that's fit to print. Except, this is the Internet, so space isn't a concern. Also: Good thing, because this is Dallas and this town always has breaking restaurant news going down like whoa.

Just when we thought Dallas-Fort Worth couldn't get enough tacos, a new festival called ¡Taco Libre! announces that it will be hitting Main Street Garden Park on Saturday, June 27. At the event, a wide variety of tacos will be available from vendors such as El Come Taco, Revolver Taco Lounge, Good 2 Go Taco and plenty more, all for just $2 per taco after a $12 charge for entry. Other perks of getting inside the gates? Luchadores will be wrestling and music acts — Ozomatli, Deep Blue Something, Team*, Party Static and Dustin Cavazos — will be performing.

But it's not just tacos that Dallas is swimming in these days. Yet another ramen joint — this called Monta Ramen — is en route, too. This Las Vegas-based chain will locally offer a limited menu that includes the popular tonkostu and shoyu styles of ramen, as well as fried rice and other entree options. Look for it to hit Richardson sometime this July.

Meanwhile, in Uptown, Malai Kitchen is rolling out a five-course tasting menu. Dishes to look forward to include seafood options like pan-roasted duck and Chilean sea bass, as well as ice cream sundaes made with house-churned coconut ice cream. Reservations are required if you wanna try the new menu, which can also come with optional wine pairings.

Meanwhile, the famed burger slingers at Off Site Kitchen are leaving their Design District outpost and moving shop to Trinity Groves. Perks to the relocation include more seating areas and a new cocktail menu. The downside is that there will be slight price increases on some burgers, at least according to GuideLive. In the meantime, you can visit the original space one last time before it closes on Saturday, June 6. The new location opens its doors on Tuesday, June 16.

In expansion news, Steel City Pops is making its way to Garland. Expect a similar menu to the Greenville Avenue location but a smaller space, according to SideDish. Be on the lookout for an opening this month.

On the cocktail side of things, The Common Table is hosting a The Big Lebowski watching party as part of its week-long, five-year anniversary celebrations. They'll be serving $5 White Russians to commemorate the event, which takes place today at 9 p.m.

Finally, let's end things with craft beer news: Arlington is the latest enclave to jump on the craft beer wagon with the opening of a new brewery called Division Brewing. According to CultureMap, the brewery will implore a “sno-cone stand approach” to brews, where guests can pick from a selection based on flavor and color. Division plans to touch on a variety of brewing styles from blondes and IPAs to stouts and sour beers. Look for it to open in August or September.
