On Haunted Cassette Tapes, Pot Cookie Freak-Outs and The Crazy Story That Is Silk Road.
If you're a listener of KTCK 1310-AM or 96.7 FM, you probably feel like you already know TC Fleming and Jake Kemp well. And if you're not a listener of The Ticket? Well, whatever. You're about to get real familiar with these two just the same. Wanna hear past episodes? You can check out IJB's archives here and on our Soundcloud page. Wanna subscribe to the podcast on iTunes? This week, I start things off by revealing that I think that I have some haunted cassette tapes. That leads to Jake going in on movies again, and the horror genre in particular.
Beyond that, yes, we're still basking in the memories from our trip to this year's Hangout Fest. Specifically, we recall that we had a pretty “fun” plane ride — one that, for Jake, ended in what he thinks is a panic attack. It's all quite a story. The moral? No one should ball that hard.
Or should they? That's the real question this week as Jake and I have both become enthralled by a Wired story about the Silk Road drug trade. Now, before you say you're burned out on Silk Road coverage, know that this story's got some new details that will shock you. And those details open things up to some pretty interesting talks on utopias and which drugs should be legal.
So spark up with us, yeah? — TC Fleming
