No Vuelvo Mas.
Sometimes life hands you lemons, and sometimes life hands you the most beautiful, perfect stick in the forest. And sometimes, when you do land that stick of all sticks, life will subsequently present you with a narrow bridge to cross.
Sure, that's a metaphor, to some degree, but it very much happened to this meme-tastic pooch recently. And like the adorably-determined pup in that clip, there's always a way to make things work out in your favor.
So, yeah, while it might be a Tuesday after a three-day holiday weekend, there's still plenty of places to keep the bender going. Take a look. — Cory Graves
Thunder From Down Under at House of Blues
Australia's primary Chippendales competitor take its show on the road. Stop snickering, fellas. No one's paying to see what you look like with your shirt off. — Stephen Young
Godzilla: The Japanese Original at Alamo Drafthouse
When Ishiro Honda's 1954 Godzilla finally made it to our shores in 1956, Perry Mason actor Raymond Burr had been spliced into much of the movie, not only needlessly Americanizing the film, but somewhat skewing its original message in the process. Now, some 50-plus years after its original release, the full, uncut Japanese version is finally enjoying screenings in the United States. — CG
High Fidelity Lecture Series Presents: The Town Hall at Off the Record (Free)
As they are wont to do from time to time, Off the Record continues hashtag Dallas Week with a panel discussion on the current state of Dallas' hip-hop scene. Featured panelists include Leo J Salazar (Too Fresh Productions), Alex Thompson (Scoremore Shows), K.G. Graham (Cosign Magazine), Shawn Cotton (SayCheese TV), Martin Morado (DTX Mgmt & Marketing), so it should be a pretty enlightening talk. Sidle up to the bar, order yourself a Jaffe and get learnt up. — CG
Ximena Sarinana at Cambridge Room
Chalk this one up to another example of fame not necessarily translating geographic boundaries. One would have to think if it did, the Latin Grammy-winning, Platinum album selling, Mexico's Got Talent judge, Ximena Sarinana would be playing a much bigger room than Cambridge. Take advantage of the opportunity to see such big talent in such a not-all-that-huge venue. — CG
Twiztid at Green Elephant
Juggalos will no doubt show up in droves tonight to see Insane Clown Posse's little brother band, fellow Detroit horrorcore duo Twiztid. We can't promise you'll walk away from this one sticky and dripping with Faygo, but if trends hold up, there will be plenty of “Fa-mo-lee” chants at this one. — Chase Whale
