In an interview with Town & Country this week, famous actress person Jennifer Connelly confessed she just bought her first computer a few days ago. Thus far in life, she's made it by with a typewriter and a broken, un-backed-up iPhone.
We sincerely hope she also surrounded herself with tech-savvy enough compatriots to let her know what the coolest events in town to attend on any given night.

Built to Spill at Granada Theater
Built to Spill mastermind Doug Martsch has a way of taking audiences back to a time when the indie-rock guitar hero was still en vogue and contemporaries like Pavement's Stephen Malkmus and Dinosaur Jr.'s J. Mascis were in their prime — hell, maybe they still are. The band has continued to tour and release albums — like April's Untethered Moon, for instance — but there's still that nostalgia factor that comes with seeing them play live. — CG
Jesus Chris Superstar at Alamo Drafthouse
Ever wanted to talk to Jesus? The Son of God — or at least a guy that played a hippie version of him once on the big screen — will drop by the Alamo Drafthouse this evening for a Q&A after a screening of Jesus Christ Superstar. He'll also have a few of his followers — Kurt Yagjhiam (Annas) and Larry Marshall (Simon Zealotes) — in tow. — CG
Sick of Sarah at Three Links
Before U2's Songs of Innocence wormed its way all annoying-like onto your iPhone without asking, causing you to find Bono and Co. more insufferable than usual, Minneapolis all-female power pop outfit Sick of Sarah held the distinction of being the spammiest band around. The group's 2205 LP came bundled with BitTorrent software, automatically downloading itself to some 1.7 million pirates in the process. Tonight, though, you'll have a choice whether or not to hear their songs. Jessie Frye and Vanilla Sugar open. — CG
The Wolf of Wall Street at Sundown
Not everyone can live the face paced, drug-fueled lifestyle of millionaire/white collar criminal Jordan Belfort. That's probably for the better. No, you won't have to rip folks off in any Ponzi schemes to afford the half-priced whiskies offered up at Sundown during its The Wolf of Wall Street screening. You also won't have to miss it because you're in jail. Win-win. — CG
Poltergeist at Alamo Drafthouse
A lot of real tragedy surrounds Tobe Hooper's great horror film co-written by Steven Spielberg, Poltergeist. Star Heather O'Rourke died at age 12 from Crohn's Disease, and Dominique Dunne, who played her older sister, was murdered by a jealous ex-boyfriend shortly after the film's theatrical release. I get chills when I think about it. This didn't stop the success of the franchise — it went on to make two sequels (O'Rourke died after Poltergeist III wrapped) and soon, a very much unwanted reboot. — Chase Whale
