Did The Houston Rockets Twitter Account Just Make A Rape Joke at The Dallas Mavericks' Expense?
Earlier tonight, the Houston Rockets knocked the Dallas Mavericks out of the 2015 NBA Playoffs with a 103-94 Game 5 win down in Houston that clinched a first-round exit for the good guys.
And, yeah, that alone is enough to be down in the dumps about.
But, uh, here's the thing: Something arguably worse than an L happened at game's end. In the waning moments of tonight's contest, the person or team behind the Rockets' Twitter account tweeted — and then soon deleted — the following:
(Yes, of course someone screen-grabbed it.)
Um… yeesh, y'all. The in-poor-taste tweet is a pick-your-poison buffet as far as possible offenses go, with implications of animal cruelty, rape and just plain poor sportsmanship among the clubhouse leaders.
Whoever runs that Rockets account — or maybe used to, if you catch my drift — could stand to learn a thing or two from the Mavs' social team, which responded in kind:
The high road's not so hard to find, turns out.
