Scenes From Last Night's OBN III's Show at Three Links.

There were lots of big shows in Dallas last night.

On the strength of his new LP, Father John Misty had no trouble selling out the Granada. Over at SMU, meanwhile, rootsy indie rock mainstays Wilco packed 'em in over at McFarlin Auditorium. Hell, even up in Denton, there was a strong offering in the form of up-and-coming singer-songwriter Waxahatchee playing at Rubber Gloves.

Good as those other performed might have been, though, I'd reckon none od them rocked a fraction as hard as bratty Austin-via-Denton punk rocker Orville Neeley and the rest of his OBN III's bandmates — or opening acts The Secret Prostitutes or Dead Mockingbirds for that matter — did over at Three Links. Diehard though those other bands' fans may be, we doubt anybody at those shows had quite as much fun as this shows cried did, too — or had as much beer spilled on them, either.

Auditoriums, mid-sized venues or no, OBN III's has proved over its numerous Dallas stops over the past few years that its shows just aren't too be missed. But if you didn't happen to make it out last night, fret not: Our own Karlo X. Ramos was on hand to capture some of the madness.
