Scenes From Last Night's Surfer Blood and Turbo Fruits Show at Dada.
Tis the ever-bountiful season for SXSW-bands to roll through Dallas and give North Texans an embarrassment of concert riches — and last night's weekend-closer at Club Dada with Surfer Blood and Turbo Fruits was no exception.
It was, however, a uniquely entertaining affair. Following an appropriately entertaining and high-energy offering from Nashville garage-rockers Turbo Fruits, Surfer Blood's poppier set managed to nicely match the bar set by its bill-mates — thanks to a little help from Turbo Fruits, actually. At one point during the headliners' set, Turbo Fruits' Jonas Stein replaced Surfer Blood frontman John Paul Pitts on stage, taking over guitar-playing duties so Pitts could take his mic out into the crowd and pose for selfies with audience members as he performed.
Photographer Karlo X. Ramos was thankfully on hand to catch that fun moment, too. Check out his images from the night below.
