Walk Away.
With another Super Bowl is in the books, it's now possible to look back at all the predictions made by various game-picking animals, to find out which were truly prescient, and which were full of bull.
HuffPo's done something to that effect with this piece, in which they asked 25 human psychics from around the country who would win the big game. Interestingly, 16 of the 25 had the Pats as a stone-cold lock.
We're no good at predicting the outcomes of athletic endeavors, but we can say with some certainty that there's at least a few places around town to have a little fun tonight. — Cory Graves
JMSN at Dada
Christian Berishaj, otherwise known as JMSN, is basically the Jack of all trades when it comes to music. He writes and produces his own music and he plays all the instruments for his recordings. He's also a music engineer and mixer. Not to mention he started his own record label, White Room Records, which he's released his albums for JMSN on. Prior to creating his own label starting JMSN, Berishaj had two other music projects, Love Arcade and later Christian TV. However, both of his previous projects had more of a pop-rock, electro-pop sound, while JMSN falls under the R&B genre. So far, the switch has worked out for him. Usher thinks he's pretty cool, so he's probably worth checking out this evening. — Carly Seitz
Homegrown Fest 6 Lineup Announce Party at Off the Record
Several of this summer's upcoming music festivals announced their lineups last week, including a pair of outdoor Downtown fests. Tonight, the OG Downtown Dallas festival, Homegrown, will reveal the acts playing its sixth annual offering, one of which will perform at this party. — CG
Badass Jazz at Amsterdam Bar
While Monday is typically a slow night for most bars, it remains one of the Amsterdam's busiest. That much be credited to local sax wizard Shelly Carrol and his crop of old-school jazz cronies. Just because there's no cover charge doesn't mean this isn't the best jazz event in town. Don't believe us? Carrol proves as much on a weekly basis. — CG
