Turn Some Heads.
What's on the docket for tonight? Well, you could always try your hand (and face) at competitive slapping.
It's all the rage, maybe? I mean, where else are you going to see some burly dudes open-palm smacking each other in the kisser just for grins?
Of course, there's plenty of other things you could do, too. — Cory Graves
Maroon 5 at American Airlines Center
Ladies and gents, 2013's sexiest man alive, Adam Levine, is back in Dallas. Not just Mr. Levine, mind you, but the rest of his alt-pop outfit, Maroon 5, too, although none of those other guys have ever been a judge on The Voice. Going back to the early aughts, it's hard to remember a band that's made a bigger impact in the pop world, though. — Lauren Rushing
KHYI-FM The Range Music Awards at Double Wide
This evening, Double Wide will show some respect to artistry as it helps Fort Worth country radio station The Range throw its first-ever music awards ceremony. The free event will feature performances from Matt Hillyer, Dave Perez of The Tejas Brothers, Deryl Dodd and Zane Williams. We hear Kanye's invite might have gotten lost in the mail. — CG
Point Break at Alamo Drafthouse
Say what you will about The Hurt Locker, but 1991's Point Break was the best thing Kathryn Bigelow has ever directed. What it lacks in tension-filled bomb diffusion scenes, it more than makes up for with Keanu Reeves' vacant FBI agent Johnny Utah character, who goes undercover to bust a ring of surfing bandits. — LR
The Blasters at Dan's Silverleaf
The Blasters is a self-described “American Music” trio that formed in 1979 and never really earned itself the attention it probably deserved. Oh well, the old favorites are still rocking and rolling on this 2015 tour, which brings the band not only to Denton tonight, but to Dallas tomorrow, where they'll play at Trees. — LR
