The Bomb Factory Announces Erykah Badu, Toadies, JMBLYA, 12th Planet and More For Opening Weeks.

Since word of The Bomb Factory's re-opening first came down in November of 2013, the general sentiment surrounding the still-being-built, 4,300-person-capacity space in Deep Ellum has been something along the lines of, “Great, but who's gonna play there?”

Back in October, the first reveals came in the form of booked performances from Motley Crue offshoot Sixx: AM (April 17) and Finnish metal act Nightwish (May 5). In November, industrial metal icons Ministry (May 5) joined in on the action along with the annual local fashion affair The Pin Show (April 4). Then, just this week, the venue announced that it had landed perhaps its two biggest scores yet with the word that Scottish '80s alt-rock heroes The Jesus & Mary Chain would play the space on May 7, and that Canadian electro-pop outfit Purity Ring would grace the Canton Street stage on May 22.

Now, though, the Bomb Factory has even further upped the ante. In a swift, singular motion, the venue has announced five more shows coming to its space:

• On Thursday, March 26, in what for now appears to be the very first show that will take place in the revamped Bomb Factory space, revered Dallas daughter and neo-soul icon Erykah Badu will perform.
• Two days later — on Saturday, March 28 — the space will be rocked by Fort Worth heroes the Toadies.
• On Saturday, April 11, prog-metal favorites Between The Buried & Me and Animals As Leaders will share a bill.
• On Saturday, April 25, noted dubstep and drum-and-bass proprietor 12th Planet will return to town for his first Dallas appearance since performing at this past year's Lights All Night festival.
• And, perhaps most notably, on May 29, 30 and 31, the space will play host to an expanded, three-day, now-third-annual installment of Scoremore's very well-received electronic-meets-rap JMBLYA Fest, although no performer details have yet been released on that front. Still: Three days!

Cue the Funkmaster Flex bomb drop, I guess? Sure! Anyway, tickets will be available on The Bomb Factory's site — sooner than later, one imagines..
