Dallas Comic-Con Fan Days Director Makes Massive Star Trek Error In Press Release.

Compared to some previous impressive lineup offerings from the Dallas Comic-Con team, this week's final announcement of guests set to appear at next month's Dallas Comic-Con Fan Days isn't exactly earth-shattering.

There's some cool names on the list, for sure. And fans of Arrow and Doctor Who will no doubt be pretty pleased about the fact that multiple cast members from each show will be headed the Irving Convention Center's way for Fan Days on February 7 and 8; Arrow actors John Barrowman, Stephen Amell and Katie Cassidy especially look like they're being billed as the event's big draws.

Star Trek fans, on the other hand, have reason to scoff. Sure, two Starfleet officers — Nichelle Nichols (Uhura in The Original Series and The Animated Series) and Terry Farrell (Dax from Deep Space Nine) — will be on-hand, but they might not be properly appreciated.

Let me explain.

“Fans can expect rare holodeck stories from Star Trek's iconic Nichelle Nichols,” says Comic-Con director Ben Stevens in a press release meant to hype up the billing.

Um, sorry, bro. She won't. There was no holodeck on Uhura's Enterprise. There was a Recreation Room that was once referenced in The Animated Series as having holo-projection technology, but no, there was no holodeck, because the holodeck didn't come around until The Next Generation. So her stories won't just be rare, they'll be nonexistent.

I feel like this is surface-level knowledge, no?
