To make last night's Discovery channel special happen, scientists spent eight months building and perfecting a suit that would allow naturalist Paul Rosolie to be swallowed alive by an anaconda — y'know, just to see what it's like — and then pulled back out to safety. Yay for science, I guess.
To make tonight awesome, it'll take a little preparation as well, albeit much less. Really all you've got to do is keep on reading the rest of this story. More good news? There's like a zero percent chance you'll be eaten by an anaconda tonight, so there's that.
Oral Fixation: Outside the Box at Wyly Theatre
Four seasons in and Dallas' favorite storytelling series still has plenty of tales to tell. At tonight's “Outside the Box”-themed edition they'll help you get into the Christmas spirit with yarns open marriages, lesbian homecoming queens, hoarders and Black Power fugitives.
Organ and Brass Spectacular at Meyerson Symphony Center
What exactly makes the DSO's Christmas program so damn spectacular? For one, it prominently features the magnificently opulent C.B. Fist Opus pipe organ, which — fun fact alert! — boasts 4,545 pipes. Joy to the world, indeed.

Of late troupes of drunken actors with clever names like ShakesBEER and Shotspeare have been staging informal production's of the bard's work in watering holes all over the country. Sacrilige you say? Perhaps not so much. As this Wall Street Journal piece on the phenomenon points out, wine and ale were often consumed all day long in Shakespeare's day, meaning the original staging of Love's Labour's Lost was probably in front of a crowd of drunk folks, too.
