Get In The Holiday Spirit With 110 Local Christmas Jams.
There's just over 21 shopping days left until Christmas — or, as many local musicians prefers to think of it, 21 more days to squeeze as much enjoyment as possible out of their recently-released Christmas recordings.
Just as in years past, several locals have once again opted to this year add to the ever-growing list of locally-tied holiday recordings — including a few repeat offenders. To that end, Fort Worth's Lindby released its third annual Christmas EP this year, a disc that just so happens to feature the 817's biggest breakout star of 2014 in Leon Bridges.
In fact, a lot of this year's holiday tunes seem to have originated in the 817: Denton's Hares on the Mountain dropped a new, somewhat vulgar one; the City of Denton released a full compilation of Christmas tunes to flash its town's musical prowess; Arlington's Pentatonix got into the spirit, naturally; and most of Hand Drawn Records' first foray into the Christmas comp game features Dentonites, as well.
