Leave It All On The Floor Tonight.

Since the new Star Wars trailer came out over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, people have wasted an awful lot of time being racist and/or complaining about how illogical the new lightsaber design is. Debating the logistics of a piece of fiction that's still a year away from being released seems kind of silly if you ask us.

Still, for those who can't quite wrap their heads around the fact that this is, in the end, just a movie, Stephen Colbert offers up quite a logical explanation to the debate. There, now that that's settled, let's all move on with our lives, and get back to focusing on the here and now, starting with what we're going to do this evening. — Cory Graves

Justin Timberlake at American Airlines Center
You know him, you love him — so does your grandmother for that matter — and tonight, almost a year to the day from his last swing through town, JT will bring sexy back to the AAC. After setting all kinds of sales records last year (becoming just the 20th artist to release two No. 1 albums in a 12-month span, spending more time at No. 1 than any other artist last year) Timberlake comes to town to do his song-and-dance routine for the Dallas crowd. — CG

An Evening with Deadspin's Drew Magary at Twilite Lounge
Paranoid Fan's lecture series continues tonight with sportswriter Drew Magary, who promises to discuss his site's coverage of Brett Favre's penis, among other topics. Oh, and it's free to attend. — Pete Freedman

Dallas Society of Visual Communication's December Meeting at Angelika Film Center
Austin-based artist Magda Sayeg is known the world over for her knit-based graffiti, lovingly called “yarn bombing.” In fact, Sayeg's become known as the mother of said movement. It's one that's not only spread to places like Dallas — a group of yarn bombers calling themselves the “Knit Wits” meet regularly at the Lakewood branch of the Dallas Public Library — but globally to places like Rome, whose centuries-old monuments have been jazzed up by Sayeg. As the featured guest at this month's DSVC meeting, Sayeg will be giving a presentation at the Angelika. — CG

How the Edge Stole Christmas at Verizon Theatre
Unlike his other band, fun., which leans heavy on the Queen vibes, Jack Antonoff's other outfit, the upstart Bleachers, takes that same over-the-top pop in a more E-Street Band direction. Interestingly enough, his bands have shared the stage with those two legends in the past year, too. Tonight, though, they're just one of the acts on 102.1-FM The Edge's big Christmas party show, which will also feature Weezer, Rise Against, Bad Suns, Big Data, Young the Giant and Walk the Moon. — CG

Netsky at Trees
Netsky was named after a computer virus, which makes a lot of sense after listening to the Belgian drum and bass producer's popular remixes and original tracks alike. Once they kind of worm their way into your brains, they're just as hard to get rid of. — CG

A Johnnyswim Christmas at Granada Theater
This power couple gives us hope when it comes to love. To be so intimately close in every aspect of life is… wow. We don't even know if we could do it. But we wish them the best. Now the music that comes out of Johnnyswim reflects the strength and intimacy behind the duo, and is almost whimsical and fairy-tale-esque. Not that we're complaining. See real life love in the form of the duo's new Christmas album, which will play heavily into its set tonight. — Chrissi Chetwood

Sealion, Santoros, Psychomagic at Three Links
Pretty much every time a local writer mentions going to a Sealion show, they'll include a line saying something to the effect of “they get noticeably better with each and every show.” To wit: the Dallas margarita punks are one of the most solid live acts in town. Joining them on this bill are L.A.-based Santoros, a bilingual psych-tinged band that's drawn comparisons to the likes of Growlers, and whose debut LP will be available in both English and Spanish editions. Also, Portland's Psychomagic, who, like Sealion, recently released a cassette via Lolipop Records. — CG

Student Art Sale at Brookhaven College
The tables, we've been told, will be piled high with treasures which can, in turn, go home with you for a song. Pick up some one-of-a-kind Christmas gifts and help out a starving student artist at the same time. — CG

Ben Watt at Kessler Theater
Ben Watt is, perhaps, best known as a member of '80s English lite-jazz duo Everything But the Girl. That group really took off in the early '90s when it adopted a more electronic, trip-hop sound. These days Watt has circled back around to the jazzier portion of his catalog, and his first solo album in some 31 years is a rather laid back affair. — CG

Reagan James at Old Texas Brewing Co. (Free)
Before the recently-booted The Voice James heads back to Los Angeles to compete in the show's “Wild Card” round, the 16-year-old stunner will perform a free-to-attend set in her hometown. Unlike all those times you've caught her on the show, you'll get a lot more than just 90-second doses of this homegrown talent. — CG
