Scenes From Last Night's Ab-Soul Show at The Loft.
The floor at The Loft does not inspire much confidence.
The thing moves. Like, a lot. And when there's a hyped-up crowd in place in the venue, just as there was last night as the TDE rapper Ab-Soul rolled through town for a gig, it can make for a somewhat scary environment.
So maybe that's why there was so much weed smoke floating about the room on this night? Sure, let's go with that: The attendees of this show were so scared for their lives that not only did they freely spark up joints and blunts while taking in the performances from Ab-Soul, but they made sure to pass those smokes up toward the stage so that the headliner himself could calm any of his own nerves.
Fortunately for all, though, the floor indeed held up all night long. And when Ab-Soul closed his set with “W.R.O.H.,” his acronym-based single that stands for “We Really Out Here,” it felt like a little bit of a reassurance.
Yup, everyone still was out there. They really were.
Thank goodness for that.
