Look Good On The Dancefloor.
Did you ever do that thing growing up where you'd go trick-or-treating in a neighborhood, then go home, change costumes and trick-or-treat again in that same neighborhood? That gimmick may have worked back then, but, sadly, it doesn't necessarily translate well to adulthood.
A 26-year-old New York woman recently found this out the hard way when she was arrested for DUI twice in one night – one of the times while dressed as a zombie. The disguise certainly didn't help keep her out of trouble.

Arctic Monkeys at Verizon Theatre
The pairing of Brit indie rockers Arctic Monkeys and tonight's openers, the more subdued Mini Mansions, may appear an odd one on paper. The match actually makes a lot of sense, though, as the Monkeys' 2013 AM LP was produced by Queens of the Stone Age leader Josh Homme, and Mini Mansions' drummer, Michael Shuman, plays bass alongside Homme in that band. Then there's the fact that things will come full circle when Arctic Monkeys' Alex Turner will appear on Mini Mansions' next full-length, which is due out sometime next year. — CG
J. Roddy Walston & the Business at Trees
Though they may not come off that way at first listen, J. Roddy Walston & the Business is a hard band to pin down. Yeah, the Southern rock/alt-country aspects immediately jump out, but the undertones of R&B and Walston's Jerry Lee Lewis-like piano licks are key indicators that there's much more at play in the band's material. You won't really care about any of that tonight, though, because the thing that's really made this outfit famous is boot-in-your-gut, Zeppelin-rivaling swagger the band performs with in a live setting. — CG
Il Sogno del Marinaio at Dada
Most, if not all, writers tasked with previewing Il Sogno del Marinaio's stops in their town will lead off their blurbs by mentioning the band counts legendary bassist Mike Watt (Minutemen, fIREHOSE) among its ranks. Rounded out by decades younger Italian guitarist Stefano Pilia and his drumming countryman Andrea Belfi, this experimental art rock trio sounds nothing at all like those. While the band's material certainly doesn't lend itself for casual listens, and will probably be most enjoyed by those in the crowd that have spent some quality time with it, witnessing Watt play in person is a treat any chance you get. — CG
Boo-Bike-Que at Boulder Park
Into getting a little dirt on your tires? One of Bike Friendly Oak Cliff's final Cycles-o-matic events this year includes potluck dinner and organized trail ride. Helmets are mandatory, and lights are highly recommended if you plan on hitting the trail past dark. — CG
Lost Boys at Sundown (Free)
The Lost Boys is known for a lot of things: having the most punk rock vampires ever in cinema, the two Corey's, the short time period when being a part of a Joel Schumacher film was a smart idea and my personal favorite, the boardwalk scene featuring a shirtless, very muscular party animal jamming with the saxophone in purple spandex. No vampires sparkle here, just party and kill. — Chase Whale
Wondercrust Presents: Neon Maniacs at The Grotto (Free)
In this 1986 b-movie teen slasher the hoard of mutants that apparently live under the Golden Gate Bridge square off against a bunch of armed-to-the-gills high school students. And as they are wont to do, comedy outfit Shut Up and Prance will be on hand to give this trash pile the true MST3k-style riffing it truly deserves. — CG
America's Test Kitchen at Majestic Theatre
This one's for the food and cooking enthusiasts: an in-depth behind-the-scenes look at the popular cooking show, America's Test Kitchen. There will be an on-stage chocolate taste taste, two live experiments, a live “sniff” test from the audience to see if they can smell what the Kimball is cooking, a Q&A and lots more. — CW
Hocus Pocus at Alamo Drafthouse
There were internet rumors a sequel to this one was coming, but it turns out that was just a bunch of hocus pocus. What is true, however, is the fact that you can see the three sassiest witches in cinema tonight at the Drafthouse as part of the Girlie Night series. Just a heads up — talking is encouraged during this series, so you've been warned. — CW
DJ Shooknite, Kozmic Sisters and Ethereal & The Queer Show at Crown & Harp
Recently formed upstart An LBJ Experience launches a new twice-monthly deal at the Crown & Harp tonight with a showcase of hip-hop (DJ Shooknite), dance (Kozmic Sisters) and experimental (EATQS). And lest expanding your sonic horizons isn't your bag, well, there are copious drink deals, too, with PBRs going for $3, well drinks for $3, and Jameson and Fireball shots going for $4. — PF
