For years now, Dallas-based roots rock outfit Somebody's Darling has been among the most popular acts in town — and rightly so.

This is a band the area music scene's watched grow up before its eyes. Eight years ago, when the band was still in its earliest stages, you could see the rowdiness that the band so often puts on full blast during its current-day live performances — but it was tempered somewhat by the nerves you'd expect to see from such a young band still figuring itself out. Of course, those days are long gone: No longer does frontwoman Amber Farris hide her impossible-to-ignore howl behind a mess of hair; no longer does lead guitarist David Ponder even remotely bother to throw his whole body into his riffs; and no longer is this a band still working out the kinks, as the current lineup's now been in place for almost half of the band's entire existence.

As for that existence? It's one that Ponder and Farris in particular have fully gotten used to — and that they openly joke about these days. Their lifestyle, as they told our Live at Malone Pictures crew, is even readily apparent in the title of the band's just-released third LP, Adult Roommates. Because, as Ponder and Farris say, that's exactly what they are — well, in addition to now being a band that, thanks to regular area radio play and an increasingly impressive fanbase size, seems well on its way to yet more growth in the years to come.

Which makes it all the more exciting that the band was able to join us at Malone Pictures for the below, latest edition of Live at Malone Pictures — which, we're excited to say, is the first in the series in which Central Track's been able to get in on the action.
