Over the weekend the man who raised $55,492 via Kickstarter to make a bowl of potato salad– or roughly $55, 482 more than his stated goal — threw an epic party in Ohio. Bands played, potato sack races were run and over 300 pounds of potato salad were served.

King Tuff, Lee Bains III & the Glory Fires at Dada
An interesting thing to learn about Kyle Thomas is he's from Vermont. It's interesting because there's no surfing in Vermont. Anyway, the lo-fi garage rocker just released his third record under the King Tuff moniker, his second for Sub Pop. His glammiest effort to date, Black Moon Spell is also, perhaps, the first King Tuff record that won't be mistaken for a Happy Birthday record. Lee Bains and his thick Alabama accent will kick this one off with an unmistakably southern brand of garage rock. — CG
Shakespeare in the Bar Presents: Twelfth Night at The Wild Detectives
Of late troupes of drunken actors with clever names like ShakesBEER and Shotspeare have been staging informal production's of the bard's work in watering holes all over the country. Sacrilige you say? Perhaps not so much. As this Wall Street Journal piece on the phenomenon points out, wine and ale were often consumed all day long in Shakespeare's day, meaning the original staging of Twelfth Night was probably in front of a crowd of drunk folks, too. — CG

Should you prefer your Shakespeare in a somewhat more traditional setting, Shakespeare Dallas' five-year quest to perform the bard's complete works brings it to a staged reading of the greatest love story ever told, tonight at the AT&T PAC. — CG

Political analyst David Gergen just might be the most fair and balanced correspondent on CNN, as partially evidenced by the fact that he served in the administrations of presidents from both ends of the political spectrum (read: Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Clinton). He'll lecture at SMU tonight, along with special guests Colin Powell and Madeleine Albright, both former Secretaries of State. — CG
