So What Happened With Saturday Night's Planned Young Thug Show at Prophet Bar?

There's no doubting it: When an artist booked to perform at a venue doesn't show, people are going to be left disappointed. And that's certainly how the crowds that showed up to the Prophet Bar in Dallas on Saturday night felt when the Atlanta-sprung Young Thug's headlining set didn't go down as expected.

As for the fact that someone at the venue reportedly turned fire extinguishers on the already disappointed crowds as they were being ushered out of the room? Well, that didn't help matters.

So it was no surprise that audiences quickly sought somewhere to point their fingers — and, with a posting on Twitter, Young Thug was happy to provide his fans with just that, blaming the event's promoters, 365 Live Entertainment, for his no-show:

According to 365 Live's James McGhee, however, the cancellation came as the result of last-minute demands on the part of the performer, who requested additional, not-previously-agreed-upon payments before taking the stage. After some back and forth, Young Thug — who'd arrived in Dallas earlier on Saturday and spent the afternoon retweeting posts from fans excited for the show — eventually backed out of his agreement with 365 Live Entertainment after doors to the event had long been opened, says McGhee.

In the end, a similar event scheduled for Sunday night in Houston was cancelled in addition to the missed Dallas show. Houston's event benefited in at least one regard, though: It was cancelled prior to fans being allowed in the venue.

“People are going to judge and comment on things they have no idea about,” McGhee says. “They don't know what happens behind the scenes. This is not a normal thing for 365 Live, although cancellations do happen in our industry and are not uncommon. But you've got to take the good with the bad and keep pushing. We don't expect this to be a recurring thing.”

In turn, fans who purchased tickets to either Dallas' or Houston's Young Thug dates through these events' sanctioned online retailer will have their purchases refunded, McGhee says. Attendees who purchased tickets at the door or who have questions beyond that are asked to reach out to 365 Live Entertainment on Twitter for more details on reimbursement.

Meanwhile, 365 Live Entertainment will also provide anyone with proof of a Young Thug ticket purchase free entrance to Saturday's Soulja Boy show at the Prophet Bar.
