Is there anything the Redditors don't know? Now they claim to have perfected the art of asking friends and strangers for favors by bombarding message boards with weird requests for free pizza. They even accompany their findings with corresponding charts and graphs. That way you know it's real science, right?
Well, maybe it is and maybe it isn't. But it probably wouldn't hurt to give their findings a quick once-over before you start pestering your friends for rides or designated driver requests tonight.
Bill Burr at Arlington Improv
You might recognize Bill Burr from Chappelle's Show. Or from Breaking Bad, where he played Saul Goodman's conman Kuby. Or from his countless televised appearances and stand-up sets on the late-night talk show circuit. Real talk, though: Burr's a comedian's comedian, and the Bill Hicks-influenced observationist is known for the George Carlin-like anger he lets fly onstage. And stand-up is his fortress. A Book Signing With Bacon at Lee Harvey's
Two of Ashley Hansen's three newest books have ties to Dallas dive bar Lee Harvey's, which makes the bar the perfect setting for tonight's book signing. While Urine Need of Art and Philosophy delves into the world of bathroom graffiti, including some from Lee Harvey's own hallowed stalls, Plaid-A-Puss is a collection of photos of cats wearing plaid, and it features the bar's own cat Bacon. Really, though, this is just an excuse for us to post a link to Bacon's most notorious literary contribution. — Cory Graves

It's been nearly two months since King Camel's all-local music series went down at Three Links. Thankfully, this high energy rock 'n' roll show featuring Street Arabs, Moon Waves and From Parts Unknown is proof that this series hasn't fallen by the wayside. — Chrissi Chetwood
Heavenly Beat at City Tavern
Austin's Heavenly Beat (read: the side project of Beach Fossils' John Pena) is always solid, sure. But it's supporting act Nicholas Nicholas that's particularly interesting on this bill. The Brooklyn-based lo fi pop auteur's sound has been described as the hippest corduroy outfit you could ever imagine. At least you know what to wear to this one. — CC

Fu Manchu at Gas Monkey Bar & Grill
This past April, venerable California stoner rock outfit Fu Manchu released its first album in five years. For its part, Gigantoid is everything the band's long-faithful fans have grown to expect from it — and then some.
