Check Out The Trailer For The New Documentary On Dallas Male Strip Club La Bare.
Sometimes the truth is better than fiction.
Or so hopes Joe Manganiello, at least. After strutting his stuff as Big Dick Richie in 2012's Magic Mike, the actor's next project — and his directorial debut — returns him to the world of male strip clubs, and, specifically, to Dallas' own La Bare, which is the focus of Manganielllo's soon-to-come documentary of the same name.
Manganiello, who also plays werewolf Alcide Herveaux on the HBO's True Blood, has reason to be interested in the noted male Dallas strip club: As he recently told Ellen DeGeneres, it was a buddy of his who used to work at La Bare that convinced him it was OK to accept the Magic Mike role. And the fireman routine that Manganiello would eventually perform on stage in that film was even inspired by a dance that his friend used to perform at the club.
The new Dallas-set film, which delves into the ups and downs of the lives of male strippers, will premiere in 20 cities on June 27. But you can get a taste right now if you want. Check out the film's recently-released red-band trailer below:
