Earlier this month, Dallas' own Jordan Spieth came within a few strokes of becoming the youngest-ever golfer to win the Masters. Whether the 20-year-old becomes the next Tiger Woods or if he just fulfills most analysts' assessment that 2014 will be Spieth's breakout year, it should prove to be a special treat to watch the future champion up close and on his home turf. Although, let's face it, you'll probably spend a good portion of the Nelson's opening day in the storied pavilion, crossing an item off your Dallas bucket list no doubt. — Cory Graves
Vibe: Dropclock vs Track Meet 2 at Beauty Bar
Back in December, Colly T of the Beauty Bar's Thursday night Vibe residency fame held a special edition of his weekly that saw him and his fellow members of the Dropclock crew battling it out with Ynfynyt Scroll, who previously held down Thursdays at Beauty Bar, and the rest of his Track Meet crew. Colly T's since called that throwdown the best party he's ever been to. So it makes since the whole group would come back for another round. Tonight's contest will see DJs Snacks and Tmil joining Colly T in Droplock's corner, and AiR DJ, Shooknite and Ynfynyt Scroll representing the Track Meet contenders. — CG
Jazz in the Atrium at Dallas Museum of Art
A unique blend of soothing bass and electric jazz harp propels 2 Tone, whose uncommon sound will be on display at the DMA tonight. Admission to the performance is free, and, should you like a cocktail or a meal to complement your evening of cool jazz, there will be plenty of options to choose from in the cafe. — CC
TunnelVisisons: the Exhibition at Kettle Art
Unlike the nomadic tribe of doctors office reception room painting suppliers that make up the bulk of the Deep Ellum Arts Festival, the 30 actual local artists behind this project also gathered at DEAF last month to compete in a live mural-painting contest. While those murals won't officially be unveiled and auctioned off until later this weekend, those same 30 artists will have smaller works on display in Deep Ellum tonight. — CG

For the third consecutive year, the Kessler celebrates Texas Rangers radio play-by-play man Eric Nadel's birthday with a fundraiser emceed by the birthday boy himself. Hal “Small Town Saturday Night” Ketchum headlines the show, which benefits CONTACT, a 24-hour counseling line for anyone in crisis. Singer-songwriter Daphne Willis opens. — Stephen Young
Whatever Lola Wants at Three Links
A month back, local burlesque dancer Lola LaRue was involved in a car wreck. And while she was fortunate enough to walk away from that event seemingly unscathed, subsequent medical examinations have revealed that she had recently developed cancer. Fellow dancers Marilyn Monrouge, Jennica Lynnlee, Blaze TheRed Rose OfTexas, PagingBettie Prductions, Lula Houp-Garou, Renee Holiday, MaryLynn May Hem, Theresa Michelle Mangum, Lyric Laveau, Melissa Meaow and ShelBelle ShamRock will shake their money makers at Three Links tonight to raise, well, money for their friend-in-need. — CG
