The complete remaking of his image over the years, arguably, surpasses the transition of his onetime bandmate Kid Rock, who himself has gone from hip-hop DJ to rap-rocker to just-plain-rocker to country-friendly southern-rocker. The Districts at Dada
Two biggest examples of bands of high schoolers that completely immersed themselves in their dads' record collections and subsequently mastered genres that died out long before they were born? Ireland's The Strypes, whose sped-up take on the Stones has earned them tremendous global buzz of late, and Pennsylvania's The Districts, whose modernized take on Dylan's electric years is deceptively sincere. Long live Beyonce, hip-hop's reigning Queen B, who'll be the sole focus of this tribute party. Gather with fellow Sasha Fierce devotees and sing along to Yonce's hits while music videos dating all the way back to her Destiny's Child days play on the big screen. We gotta say, it's a concept we're pretty drunk in love with. — PP
Spring What to Wear Fashion Show Mockingbird Station
Strut your way over to Mockingbird Station for yet more tips on what to wear this spring. The Spring What to Wear Fashion Show aims to provide that certain je ne sais quoi that only a French-themed show can provide — one that will be bolstered by the fact that attendees at this one can also enter for a chance to win a trip of a lifetime to the City of Lights itself. Gorgeous models will be in full supply, as will free drinks and free food. Rounding out this event will be music provided by DJ Blake Ward and a performance by The O's. — Porschia Paxton
Moda Belletto Presents: Unmasked Fashion Show Benefiting P.A.I.N. at Caldwell Arte Exposicion
The Dallas chapter of P.A.I.N, a filmmaking organization dedicated to bringing awareness to domestic violence, will be launching tonight while raising money to prevent domestic violence in neighborhoods. Moda Bolletto is a consulting agency for models and actors, and it provided the actors for this show's short films, which are meant to show off the all-too-real domestic violence experiences that can and do happen. Come out to this event for a good cause — along with a passion for fashion, too. There will be a raffle with prizes ranging from artwork to spa goods by Elizabeth Arden, with proceeds donated to P.A.I.N. and Genesis Women's Shelter & Support. — PP
Night of News at Krimson and Klover
Upscale Uptown women's fashion boutique Krimson & Klover will host a fashion and jewelry-filled night inside its old Victorian-style home. There will be a trunk show featuring handmade jewelry by Ammunition Jewelry, which was founded by Texans Apple Price and Jayme Wakefield, whose creations are made from recycled materials and raw gems. Other featured items will come from Mahogany Blues swimwear, Chicago based Blank nation apparel, and Klutch Handbags, with proceeds going to local Dallas charity Jonathan's Place. Discounts will be offered, and refreshments are a given. — PP
Triple Lutz at Double Wide
Local '80s friendly rockers Hello Lover technically headline this bill. But the more interesting thing about this one might be the debut performance from newcomers Triple Lutz, who'll open tonight's show. Shoe legend Sam Edelman has been praised in this month's issue of InStyle magazine, which features Jennifer Lopez on the cover. Tonight, he'll be making a personal appearance at the Nordstrom in NorthPark. — PP
