On Saturday night, a mix of 24 local and national designers took their compositions to the runway as part of The Pin Show's annual fashion showcase.

And, let me tell you, Dallas was buttoned up tight and looking fine at this one. People of all different styles and statuses roamed the building. And the turnout? It was great.

Maybe that's to be expected: Even in its short lifespan, the Pin Show has always seemed to have received an abundance of support. At the show's very first go a few years back, organizers immediately knew they had to seek out larger settings to better accommodate for the large crowd. And this year, they hit the nail on the head, hosting the event at the old, spacious Good Year warehouse in the Design District. The hollowed-out space was perfect — as fine a raw setting for a catwalk as exists in city limits.

And the fashion that strutted down that catwalk was a good mix — of women's clothes, men's clothes, edgy ideas, sophisticated styles, modern looks and vintage appeals, plus bag aplenty, jewelry all over the place and, yes, even some underwear. There were eye-catching moments galore, too, from the very bare male models to Hardly Alice's Alice in Wonderland-themed line, and even a marriage proposal between designer couple Aldo Sandoval and Annie Barrientos.

The entire night was filled with a kind of beauty with which Dallas so often shines. Yes, the hair the makeup, the music — it was all on point. But so were the conversations around the art of fashion.

Dallas' Design District has seen a lot of incredible fine art pass through in recent memory. But, this past weekend, it got a taste of a different and still very innovative industry.

And that's called a win.
