Check Out Ghost Image's “The Way.”
These are strong trap music times in the Dallas dance world.
Surely, you already know about Booty Fade, one two-man group's effort at furthering the cause.
Well, now get familiar with Ghost Image. Like Booty Fade, Ghost Image is a collaborative effort, this time between area producers Redsean (born Sean Humphrey) and Ill Miller (born Mario Miller). You may recognize Redsean — from DJing all around town for the better part of the past decade and, hopefully, from his work in Crussia, which released our favorite local jam of 2012 — but Miller you probably don't. He's a newer player to the scene, Redsean says.
Maybe that's a good thing, though. The below track — “The Way,” the group's first, which is available below as both a stream and a free download — boasts a fine freshness to it. Check it out:
“We've been working on [Ghost Image] for about a year now,” Redsean says. “Just messing with different sounds and trying to fit our different influences into it. It's a little different, a little darker.”
The plan moving forward?
“We have quite a few songs that we're working on,” Redsean continues. “We just have to edit a couple sounds and get them mastered.”
Crowds can expect the duo to start DJing around town at some point in March, with live sets planned to follow in the months after.
Oh, and since we brought up Crussia, it's worth noting too that Redsean's old mate in that outfit, Justin Bell, has a new trap-influenced project of his own called Jus-Stone — one that's worth knowing if only for this Drake remix alone.
Dance on, Dallas.
