Scenes From Saturday Night's Sold-Out Dom Kennedy Show at Trees.
Saturday night's Dom Kennedy show at Trees saw the Deep Ellum venue completely packed with fans.
It was pretty crazy. There was barely any room to move.
Cause for dissatisfaction? Not really. This was a patient crowd. And the energetic opening sets kept heads bobbing and spirits high enough.
The Los Angeles-based Kennedy was less inclined to wait, of course. The rapper arrived at the venue just in time to tie his shoes and sneak in a moment of prayer with his team before hitting the stage. Then, as he calmly yet confidently strutted onto the stage with the mic in his hand, he started.
He hit every corner of the stage. He touched his fans' outstretched hands. And he played right into their desires for this show. His performance of his biggest hit, “My Type of Party” brought the house to a climax, igniting the rest of the still-to-come show.
Still, it was mostly a chill vibe. In case you were curious as to exactly what type of party Kennedy prefers.
