Give Your Heart a Break.

Late last week, a very important precedent was set in Indiana when that state ruled that, despite laws on the books that say cops can arrest anyone who “harasses, annoys, or alarms another person” while inebriated, those laws weren't really all that enforceable after all.

You catch that? You're legally allowed to go out and be as annoying as you want tonight.

Where you choose to take advantage of your new freedom is up to you.

Oral Fixation: No Strings Attached at Hamon Hall
A wise man once said that the leading fear for most Americans — ahead of even death — is the fear of public speaking. Goes that old bit: “To the average person, if you have to be at a funeral, you'd rather be in the casket than doing the eulogy.” Of course, the only public speaking scenarios most folks face in their lives comes through the mundane presentations they're forced to make at school or in front of co-workers. Those moments rarely come elsewhere — like, say, in front of a crowd of strangers. And yet that's exactly what Dallas storytelling series Oral Fixation asks its contributors to do. And the results are great: The authenticity and honesty behind the tales shared by organizer Nicole Stewart and her gutsy performers are what makes Oral Fixation such an exceptional series. Tonight, all tales will center around a “No Strings Attached” theme. — Cory Graves

Demi Lovato at Verizon Theatre
For the homecoming stop on Lovato's “Neon Lights” world tour, the former Disney star and Dallas native has promised a show the likes of which her fans have never seen. She's hammered this point home in recent interviews, in which she promises that this tour will be less about the music this and more about the huge, girl empowerment-themed party that was largely designed by Nick Jonas. No, seriously, he's the tour's creative and musical director. — CG

What Difference Does It Make? at Texas Theatre
Tonight, the Red Bull Music Academy is holding free screenings of its new music-making doc in 60 cities across the globe. Dallas, of course, is one of them. Can't catch the Erykah Badu-, Brian Eno-, Q-Tip-, and James Murphy-featuring film tonight? Even if another featured player in the film — Dallas' own Black Milk — will be there? Even if there'll also be a DJ set from Dallas' own Shuttle? The energy drink manufacturers will begin streaming the thing for free here starting tomorrow. — CG
