As of last night, this year's Super Bowl matchup has been set. And it's an interesting one to say the least: I mean, is it just a coincidence that when Peyton Manning's Broncos and Russell Wilson's Seahawks face off in a couple weeks, they'll be representing the only two states in the country that have legalized recreational marijuana?
Maybe it isn't just the shoes.
Anyway, just because weed is legal some places — a fact that Obama recently said he's totally cool with, by the way — the stuff is still outlawed around these parts.
Meaning? You'll have to stick to good clean fun for the time being.
Falling in Reverse, Escape the Fate and Chelsea Grin at House of Blues
Less than a year after being released from prison, Escape the Fate frontman Ronnie Radke released the debut album with his new post-hardcore outfit Falling in Reverse (formerly From Behind These Walls). Their followup, last year's Fashionably Late, saw the band incorporating country, rap, auto-tuned pop, dubstep and chiptune into their repertoire. Needless to say, the reception hasn't been quite as warm this second time around. Anyway: Radke and the recently reunified Escape the Fate open. — Cory Graves

In this 1970 kung fu classic, a sword-slinging vixen played by Pei-Pei Cheng (of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon fame) must track down and reunite the five Kao brothers who, like the Megazord, are pretty much unstoppable when their powers are combined. — CG
Cool Out at Crown and Harp
This week's guest is Houston's Flash Gordon Parks, who is quite well-regarded in that city for his encyclopedic knowledge of funk, soul, hip-hop and jazz. In particular, Parks has a soft spot for tunes with ties to his hometown, which is something that we can relate to. — CG
