Ring In The New Year.
According to Jonah Lehrer — who plagiarized it from God knows who — there is actually a scientific explanation as to why so many New Year's resolutions are broken before January even ends: We take on too many life-improvement measures at once.
Mankind's willpower, the now-disgraced author once wrote, is notoriously weak and has a hard enough time trying to break one bad habit at a time. And, the thing is, most people make entire lists of goals and resolutions for the New Year.
So know this: If you're really insistent on sticking with this somewhat silly resolution tradition, then maybe try to spread your goals out throughout the course of the whole year.
Y'know, fix your life with baby steps.
Besides: Can you imagine being around the irritable fool that's trying to quit smoking and lose weight at the same time?
Worse yet, can you imagine being that person?
Cripes.
Fortunately, there are enough distractions going down this week for you to not have to worry too much about all that just yet. Here's just some of what's going on.
