That Massive Live Nation-Backed Music Festival Coming To Plano Now Has a Name: Suburbia.

Back in August, we passed along word that the City of Plano had approved the expenditure of $625,000 in order to get the massive Live Nation concert conglomerate to host a large-scale music festival within its city limits in May 2014, and possibly into years beyond, too.

Now, thanks to this Dallas Morning News item, we can confirm the name for the affair, which all along has been slated to go down within the Dallas suburb's Oak Point Park and Nature Preserve: The multi-day music festival will henceforth formally be known as the Suburbia Music Festival.

Yes, really — according, at least, to the festival's web site and corresponding, just-launched social pages. Oh, and there's a logo, too.

Anyway, that's pretty much all we can report for now. We still don't know which weekend in May will host the festival, and we certainly don't yet know who'll be playing the sucker just yet.

But $625,000 is no small amount of funds, so we're not exactly expecting total slouches, even if the festival's name isn't making us feel much better about the possibilities.

We do, however, essentially have a standing call in to Live Nation's offices at this point, so we'll keep you updated with info as we get it.
