Scenes From Perma's Live Debut Last Night at Good Records.

Shortly after pop-punk darlings Max Bemis (Say Anything) and Sherri DuPree (Eisley) wed in early 2009, the couple announced that, in addition to starting a family together, they'd also be launching a new indie-pop endeavor together called Perma.

What they didn't say at the time was just how long fans of their respective bands would have to wait before seeing the fruits of the project's labor. Only yesterday, a full four years after the fact, did the Tyler-dwelling twosome finally release Perma's debut LP, Two of a Crime LP. And only last night — as part of an in-store event at Good Records on Lower Greenville that was meant to celebrate the release of that album — did Perma finally make its formal live performance debut.

It was an intimate affair, too — and, immediately, it was clear that the couple's five-song, acoustic showcase on the shop's AstroTurf would charm this audience filled with Say Anything and Eisley fans alike.

That's not too surprising: Bemis and DuPree-Bemis (as is now her legal name) have both acted as the longtime fronts for their respective bands; performing before a small crowd like this is no huge deal. Still, their between-song melted the crowd all the same. Showing off her husband's duds, Sherri made sure to point out the new sweater that Max was wearing, which he specifically bought for the night's show at Forever 21 — a store that boasts an underrated men's selection, according to Max.

Also in attendance and watching from the side of stage with her aunt, the also musically-inclined Christie DuPree, was Max and Sherri's eight-month-old daughter, Lucy. Throughout the set, the couple couldn't help but continuously look over at their daughter before eventually giving in to temptation and introducing her to the crowd.

Then, in what seemed like a natural instinct — mostly likely from the DuPree side of the family, if we're guessing — Lucy grabbed the mic and gave the audience a big smile.

After the performance ended, the couple lingered in the store, signed autographs for fans that bought the new album and mentioned that they'll be returning to Dallas for a date on December 22 at Club Dada as part of an acoustic tour featuring each of these artists performing both separately and together. It worth noting that the Get Up Kids' Matt Pryor will also be a part of that bill.

No word yet, however, on whether Lucy will show for that one.
