New Short Doc Looks Back at The Fast, Awesome Burn of Former Denton DIY Space Taqueria el Picante.

It's already a thing of the past, but let us never forget: For a brief stretch there, those hardcore shows that were taking place inside of Denton taco restaurant Taqueria el Picante just might've been the coolest things going in North Texas.

And that's not all hyperbole, either. The below, six-minute documentary from Dariel Hernandez — focusing on the space, its operators and the Atomic Tanlines shows that so served as the lifeblood of the scene — is as good a representation of the Taqueria el Picante scene's vibrancy as exists. It's well worth the watch — and not just because we say so, either. National metal/hardcore site CVLT Nation gave the doc, called Hardcore El Picante its stamp of approval arlier this week. (In somewhat related news, the site today gave local heroes True Widow's new Circumabulation album a glowing review today, too.)

Check it out below and remember: Only the good die young.
