Before It's Released, Check Out New Fumes' Mashup Of The Polyphonic Spree's New Album
Next week, after months of teasing, the Polyphonic Spree will finally release Yes, It's True, the plus-sized band's fifth LP and fourth to feature all-original material since forming 13 years ago.
That, in part, explains why the band's hitting the road so hard this month. It doesn't do much in the way of describing what fans can expect of the album, though.
Well, having heard the album a few times now here at CT HQ, we can confirm what you probably already expect of the release: It's a full, poppy release from arguably the fullest pop-rock band to ever come out of Dallas.
At times, the album finds the band exploring some of the most experimental territory it's ever touched upon; at other points, the band's sound is poppier than ever. It's a healthy mix.
Which is to say: Well, nothing about the new release, admittedly. Fortunately, we have some help in that regard. Below, you can check out a mashup featuring the album's full catalog, as pieced together by former band guitarist Daniel Huffman of New Fumes. Featuring visual accompaniment by Michael Allen/Project Ion, the mashup does a far better job of previewing the disc's sound than we're really capable of at this point. Give it a watch an listen. Then keep up with the band's day-to-day goings on as they tour the world right here.
