Check Out The First Round of Guest Attendees For The Dallas Comic Con's 2013 Fan Days Event.
Yesterday afternoon, the folks behind Dallas Comic Con's Fan Days released the first wave of confirmed guests at this year's affair, which will this year take place on October 4, 5 and 6 at the Irving Convention Center, which kind of looks like a spaceship.
Even more exciting? The lineup actually has a lot to do with comics, which is a welcome change for the true comic lovers out there.
Anyway, in honor of this exciting announcement, let's hand out some superlatives to this diverse cast of characters scheduled to make appearances..
Biggest Nerd Crush.
On the guest announcement page, the name Carrie Fisher is printed over her hot bod, as seen in that seductive gold bikini from Jedi. But, since Fisher looks, uh, a little different these days let's just five this title to Katee Sackhoff, better known as Starbuck from Battlestar Galactica.
Studliest Hero.
This one's a tough tie. Honestly, how do you choose between Battlestar Galactica's Captain Apollo (Jamie Bamber) and Torchwood/Doctor Who's Captain Jack Harkness (Jon Barrowman). We can't. And we won't.
Best Throwback.
Jason David Frank, obviously. C'mon. The guy played Tommy the original green Power Ranger! Also the original white Power Ranger! He played both.
Scariest Guest.
Kane Hodder. Yes, that would be Jason from the 2001 Friday the 13th movie Jason X. Hide your kids. Oh, and an honorable mention to Steve Niles, who wrote 30 Days of Night.
Best Two-for-One Special.
John Rhys-Davies could be attending Comic Con as either Grimli, the Lord of the Rings dwarf or as Indiana Jones' bestie, Sallah. Either way: Score!
Best Dream Scenario.
Jon Heder busting moves as his breakthrough Napoleon Dynamite while that bitchy Draco Malfoy (Tom Felton) tells him how much he sucks at dancing.
Best Guy You Know You Know, Even If You're Not Sure Where From.
Michael Rosenbaum, who plays Lex Luther on the amazingly long-winded Superman show Smallville. But if that's not where you recognize his face, it could be from his appearances in Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Sweet November. Still unsure? Maybe you saw him in Sorority Boys. Or maybe you just know his voice from his work in cartoons Rocket Power, The Wild Thornberrys or Teen Titans.
Best Real-Life Couple.
Marvel comic artist and illustrators Mitch and Elizabeth Breitweiser. What a sweet and probably super nerdy union.
Best Droid.
Anthony Daniels, the voice of the Star Wars droid C-3PO. Because he's just hilarious.
Other Guests of Note.
Marvel's Greg Horn, Herb Trimpe Alex Saviuk and Bill Sienkiewicz will all be in attendance, as will DC artists Bo Hampton and Bernie Wrightsons, plus British comic artist Simon Bisley and illustrator Mark Nelson.
And, well, that does it for now, although the event does promise more guest announcements as it gets closer to going down. So keep checking back here for more announcements. And keep your fingers crossed for Robert Downey Jr. to inexplicably show up on the list, even though there's pretty much no way that will ever happen.
