The Turn Up with Ynfynyt Scroll at Beauty Bar
Earlier this week, we reflected on DJ Sober's grand finale to his residency at Beauty Bar, in addition to spilling the beans of the new Thursday night house cats. Ynfynyt Scroll will be making his debut tonight, packing the same rap, club and R&B style heat you've learned to love at the Beauty Bar. Rodrigo Diaz, the man behind the Ynfynyt handle, once told us that it's time for Dallas to start tightening up. Expect the turn up tonight to be real, Dallas. Very real. — Zoe Mattioli
Sober's Big Bang Basement at The Travis
DJ Sober may have bounced from Beauty Bar (see above), but his new weekly over in the cozy, grimy confines of The Travis' basement should prove to be quite the party itself. Expect Sober to get a little experimental with this one; he'll still play his usual dance- and hip-hop-heavy fare, but the new gig's also a chance for him to change the formula up a little bit. Meanwhile, the Travis folks will also be doing their part to welcome Sober's crowd: There will be no valet in the club's parking lot and, for the early-arriving set, the club will be buying a keg and handing out free beer until that sucker floats. — Pete Freedman
RX Bandits at The Prophet Bar
RX Bandits are celebrating the 10-year of their The Resignation album with an anniversary tour that brings the band to the Prophet Bar tonight alongside special guests Northern Faces. For those unfamiliar with the headliner: The O.C.-based band's so-called “groove tech” sound is a pretty interesting blend of rock, blues and dub. — Nicole Arnold
Benefit for Biggs at Goodfriend Beer Garden & Burger House
The great minds over at Goodfriend have teamed up with several breweries, tattoo parlors and other local businesses to help raise some funds for their friend Cody Biggs, who recently survived a motorcycle accident. There'll also be a silent auction, and Ronnie Fauss and The Hazardous Dukes will be jamming out. Drink some beers and maybe make a few bids to help out a local in need. — Jessica Petrocchi

It's sure to be a sultry evening in the West End — and not just because of the sweltering temperatures outside. Urban jazz saxophonist Boney James brings his dulcet tones to the House of Blues for set sure to be full of audience interaction and low-key sexiness. Barefoot at the Belmont at The Belmont Hotel (Sold Out)
Tickets to these things always go quick, so it's no surprise that tonight's Hacienda/The Unlikely Candidates bill is sold out. In fact, the July 25 Air Review/Chambers edition of Barefoot at the Belmont is not only also already sold out, but was reported to have done so in only five minutes. Recently, Dallas got its very own chapter of GOOD, which describes itself as a “global community of people and organizations that give a damn,” and the folks behind that group are the minds behind tonight's event at Garden Cafe. The whole idea? To open up a dialog regarding the well-being and health of our city. Community leaders will look at the challenges facing Dallas food, recreation, expression, education and community interaction. If you want to join in, help brainstorm solutions and help fill out this event's sure-to-be positive vibes, show up at 8:30 p.m. and BYOB. — JP
Nails Across America & Good Luck Karaoke at the Double Wide
New York-based artist Breanne Trammell converted a 1968 Shasta canned ham trailer into a mobile nail salon for her latest project, Nails Across America, which finds her on a cross-country mission to manicure the nails of people from every state in the union. Just know heading in that this manicure is unconventional is almost every sense: First of all, it's free; also, instead of regular colors, you have the option of getting your nails did with doughnut sprinkles, pizza, sunset, and a glittery blue homage to Friday Night Lights. Seems like a perfect match for the ever-creative minds behind Good Luck Karaoke, who shares their regular Thursday night offering with Trammell tonight by adopting a “Spa Day Party” theme for their festivities. — Zoe Mattioli
