As you may have noticed, Facebook recently added a hashtagging feature to its offerings. Seems normal tagging and keywords aren't good enough for Big Man Zuckerberg anymore what with Twitter at its height in popularity.
So, just as you do with your Twitter followers, now you can “entertain” your Facebook friends as well with #OverlyLongHashtagsThatNoOneWouldSearchForEver — or our personal favorites like #chicken, as in “I ate #chicken for dinner.”
That's cool and healthy, I guess.
Anyway, it seems like #hashtags truly are the wave of the future. Guess we have no choice but to follow suit.
With that in mind, #GetOutThereAndHaveSomeFunTonight.

Barenaked Ladies, Ben Folds Five, and Guster at Verizon Theatre
This fearsome trio of late-'90s favorites launch their “Last Summer on Earth” tour tonight. Want to feel old for a second? The Barenaked Ladies, who have a new album coming out later this summer, are celebrating their 25th anniversary as a band. I wonder if they can still pull off singing all the lyrics to their big, tongue-twisting hit “One Week” all these years later. Meanwhile, Ben Folds Five is touring in support of its first ever live album. And Guster has a new studio effort, too. Ah, memories.
Ariel Pink and Trees
This LA-born performer grew up on goth rock and gained fame with the help of Animal Collective. Now he's among the more revered noise pop acts around. Maybe Added Pizzazz (a.k.a Dallas' Yells at Eels) will be join him onstage at some point in the night? Here's hoping; we'd show up for the remote possibility alone. Kirin J. Callinan and Purple Pilgrims open.
Small Black and Heavenly Beat at Dada
Chillwave outfit Small Black comes to Deep Ellum on the heels of their May release, Limits of Desire. Austin's Heavenly Beat and Fort Worth's Ice Eater open.
David Willingham Project at Sundown
The next two Mondays, this Dallas native brings his reggae stylings to Sundown at Granada. Surely, he'll play the song he wrote for local America's Got Talent runner-up Cas Haley's recently-released LP. Hell, maybe he'll even play it twice.
