Bid Spooky Folk Adieu.

Did you ride your bike to work this morning? If so, you're already winning this week; today, after all, is the first day of National Ride Your Bike to Work Week, which is too a real thing. Also? It's a good way to exercise, I'm told.

And, as far as today goes, well, now that the annual calendar marker that is the Homegrown Music and Art Festival has passed, it might as well be the first official day of summer in Dallas, too.

To that end, today's the day we here at Central Track will start rolling out our week-long Guide to Summer series of stories. So keep an eye out for all of those pieces.

And keep an eye out for these events tonight.

Spooky Folk at Dan's Silverleaf
Is this Spooky Folk's last show? No, not really. The band is steadfast on this much: Frontman Kaleo Kaualoku is just moving to Denver to live with his new bride; the revered Denton act, whose self-titled 2010 debut is among universally revered releases in local music memory, isn't breaking up. Still, goodbyes are hard.

Natural Child, Birdcloud and Endless Thoughts at Rubber Gloves Rehearsal Studios
Last summer, the roof of the City Tavern literally caught fire during a Natural Child set. Now that Gloves is a non-smoking entity, fires seem less likely at this show than they might've only two weeks back. Still, expect an incendiary offering from the Nashville-based garage rockers.

Moon Taxi and Frontier Ruckus at Live Oak Music Hall
Sincere indie folk-pop from Nashville and Michigan, respectively. Also, Moon Taxi is not to be confused with the delicious Mambo Taxi from Mi Cocina.
