Local Musicians and Promoters Team Up For West, Texas Benefit Show This Weekend.
Many rounds of applause to the local music scene this week for springing into action pretty much immediately after the news broke of the tragic fertilizer plant explosion and subsequent devastation down in West and getting right to work on a concert aimed at benefiting those affected by the tragedy.
On Sunday, April 28, at the AT&T Performing Arts Center's outdoor Strauss Square stage, folks from the Granada Theater, Goodfriend Beer Garden & Burger House, ATTPAC, Club Dada, the Kessler Theater, the Homegrown Music & Arts Festival, Strauss Marketing & PR, The Door, Good Records and the House of Blues will present a concert called Texans for West, which is set to take place from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
More performers are expected to be announced for the benefit concert in the coming days, but, for now, confirmed performers include Jonathan Tyler & The Northern Lights, The O's, Somebody's Darling, Goodnight Ned and Vaden Todd Lewis of the Toadies, who will perform a special solo acoustic set at the affair.
Tickets for the concert will cost $20 and will be made available for advanced purchase right here, starting at 1 p.m. today.
In the meantime, check the event's Facebook page for more information.
