Let’s all just admit it: Yesterday was gross.
The weather was less than favorable, and it refused to decide whether to rain or not before eventually settling on that frizzy hair-inducing mist setting it rode for the larger part of the day.
So much for springtime, eh?
Well, let bygones be bygones. Today is a new day entirely. And it's looking like a good one.
Boz Scaggs at Strauss Square
The North Texas-bred William Royce “Boz” Scaggs is a living legend in some circles, by which I mean most circles. His resume? He temporarily fronted the Steve Miller Band before heading out on a successful solo career of his own that's spanned some five decades. He's currently touring to promote his latest blues- and rock-centered album, Memphis. Make sure to bring a cozy blanket and your favorite bottle of wine to this show, though. It's taking place outside and, according to the Weather Channel, temperatures will be in the high 50s.
The Allah-Las at Club Dada
These LA-based psychedelic surf rockers are hitting up Dada tonight, bringing with them their interesting breed of western-inspired tunes, which sound very Kinks-like to me. The Night Beats and Elephant Stone, the latter of whom recently opened for the legendary Zombies, round out this psychedelic lineup. All three bands, we should note, are heading down Austin way this weekend for the sixth annual Austin Psych Fest.

The former frontman of horror-punk pioneers the Misfits, Glenn Danzig is on the road these days celebrating the 25th anniversary of his other band, the one that bears his name. His former Misfits bandmate, Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstien (real name: Paul Doyle Caiafa), joins him on the bill. Fun fact: Danzig will be stretching his acting chops soon; he was just tapped to play a thug in the Kickstarter-funded feature film based on the life of adult film starlet Vanessa Del Rio.

Tonight, Peter Murphy is celebrating 35 years of fronting the legendary goth rock innovators Bauhaus by performing nothing but Bauhaus tunes. Give him some love tonight — after some bad luck of late, Murphy could use it.
Powerman 5000 at Trees
Ready to feel what it's like when worlds collide? Yes? Well, good, because these guys are still going, and they're hitting the road to drum up excitement for their next album, which the group is currently recording. Our best suggestion on how to prepare for tonight's show: Paint your nails black, strap on that old pair of leather platform boots, don your shiny pyramid belt and grab a pair of unnecessary goggles.
