By 2:30 on Saturday afternoon, more than 2,000 people had already made their way through the first-ever North Texas Taco Festival's offerings, confirming at least one thing that we all pretty much already knew: People really like tacos.

Before we let that number get cast aside, though, allow this much to reinforce Dallas' love of all things taco-related: The whole event, which featured various taco tents and trucks in addition to pop-up shops, dance displays and cook-off competition, took place on a single Main Street block in Deep Ellum, from Crowdus to Malcom X. So, yeah, things were busy down there as Urban Taco, Velvet Taco, Zen Taco, Rusty Taco and more gathered to share their versions of everyone's favorite whenever food.

Hell, there was even plenty to take in if you didn't like tacos. There were cute little trinkets to be found while shopping at the various market stops, which included one guy who was even selling off his vinyl collection.

But, really, it was just a beautiful day for tacos and taco lovers, mostly. And for that burro, too, wherever the hell that thing came from.
