Between the Boston Marathon bombings and the plant explosion in West, it's been a rough, rough week for all of us.

But, hey, we're resilient — humans, Americans, Dallasites, whatever you may identify yourself as. We deal with these things. We figure out ways to move on, and we do.

And, if you're up to it, you can move on this weekend. There's plenty going on throughout the region over these next couple of days to help you do just that.

But, again, only if you're up for it. Because, listen, if you're not, no one will blame you.

The O's' Album Release Party at Granada
It’s a celebration, bitches. The O's want to celebrate the release of their sophomore album, Thunderdog, which is full of banjo-pickin', kick-stompin' and singalong-ready good times.

Main Streets Arts Festival in Fort Worth
This free Fort Worth arts festival continues tonight with performances from Carolyn Wonderland, James Hunter and more.

Untapped Pre-Party at The Live Oak featuring Air Review, Daniel Hart, Memphis Dawls and The Unlikely Candidates
Before the party is, of course, the pre-party. And folks that attend this pre-party will get an opportunity to get in an express line for the Untapped Festival in Fort Worth on Saturday. Plus, the bands are cool, too.

Atlanta isn't strictly the breeding ground for ratchet rap. They've got some country music, too. Grammy Award-winning country music, even. About things that are chicken-fried!

International Guitar Festival at Dallas Market Hall
All weekend long, guitar lovers will have the opportunity to have the time of their life at this affair, as manufacturers, dealers and musicians will gather and gush over the sacred instrument of strumming. The weekend will also see performances and a competition to see just who might be the best area guitarist under 20 years old.

Umphrey's McGee at House of Blues
Once upon a time in the late '90s, college radio was all about prog rock and excessive noodling. Umphrey's McGee is the result of that trend. Still.

Wovenhand at Dada
Dramatic folk with religious undertones is what Denver's Wovenhand performs. Fittingly, The Angelus, a local outfit that can be described in much the same way, opens this bill.

North Texas Taco Festival
This is Texas, and, if you don’t like tacos, we'll see to it that you get extradited to Oklahoma. Assuming you do like tacos, the North Texas Taco Festival is for you. It will host more than 10 taquerias, restaurants and food trucks from the Dallas-Fort Worth area, plus copious taco competitions of various sorts. Also, the folks from Deep Ellum Brewing Co. will be on hand to help quench your thirst.

Untapped Festival in Fort Worth
What a deal: A ticket to this affair is not only gets you samples of all sorts of beer, but lots of music, too. In all, some 100-plus beers from 50-plus breweries will be available for your drinking pleasure as musical acts such as Justin Townes Earle, Deer Tick, Tennis, Sarah Jaffe, Skeleton Coast and others perform.

There's no new album or anything behind this show from Dallas' own Bryce Avary — not unless you consider his last album, 2012's Life Will Write The Words, which came out last June, to be “new.” But, hey, he's a hometown kid who pens enjoyable enough alt-pop and he's performing a hometown show.

Son Volt at Sons of Hermann
There's sometime gloriously simple at play with former Uncle Tupelo player Jay Farrar's Son Volt band naming their just-released eighth LP, the one this show comes in support of, Honky Tonk, isn't there?

Higher Learning Part Deux at Dada
Saturday, as you no doubt know, is 4/20. It's like Christmas for stoners. So that's why this affair is being called “Higher Learning.” Here, Leon The Professional, A.Dd+, Brain Gang and Sir Michael Rocks (who you might know from the Cool Kids) will all perform as part of this dank showcase.

Loose Cooperation at 2646 Main Street
Loose Cooperation brings together a number of area photographers in an effort to showcase some unconventional methods of photography. Basically, this ain't your average DSLR exhibit.
