Let Tartufi Mess With Your Head.
It's Wednesday, y'all! And, by now, you're almost surely already sick of seeing all those “humpday” status updates where your friends all start rambling on about how much they're looking forward to the weekend.
Well, in your friends' defense, they might be on to something this time around. This weekend really is shaping out to look amazingly packed.
On the other hand, the weekend is still a few days. So, in the meantime, turn your attention to this lovely list of entertaining distractions to help you make it through the week.
Transit at the Door
These northern emo rockers are on the road as part of an international tour in support of their fourth studio album, Young New England, and, tonight, they'll be making a stop in Dallas. Also along for the ride: Seahaven, All Get Out and Young Statues.
Hump Day Bingo at the Single Wide
Looking to get drunk and play a game of chance with a bunch of people just looking to help ease their mid-week woes? The Single Wide has your back with their weekly bingo extravaganza, complete with special drink prices, amazing prizes and awesome tunes.
Taproot at Trees
Seems like Taproot has gained some popularity among the youngsters these days for their moody rock music and seemingly deep lyrics. That's interesting, if only because their newest albums are a far cry from their rap-rock roots, which saw Fred Durst clamoring to sign them to his label back in 2002. (In case you were wondering, they ended up going in a different direction.) They'll be tapping into their roots (see what I did there?) on this tour, though, which finds them performing their debut album, 2000's Gift, in its entirety.
Hayes Carll at Dan’s Silverleaf
Did you miss out on Hayes' performance at the Kessler last week? Then head on up Denton tonight to check out the self-proclaimed “degenerate love songwriter” perform.
Tartufi, Curvette and Midnite Society at Andy's Bar
San Francisco experimental folk rocker duo Tartufi is no stranger to the region, having performed in various clubs and even art galleries in Dallas and the surrounding areas over the years. And there's a reason they keep coming back: Their droning, visually intensive performances have a undeniable enchantment to them.
Frisky Disco, The Holy Child and The Boss Level at Lola’s Saloon
Looking to have your faces melted with jazzy, funk-inspired rock tonight? Fort Worth's got you covered.
My Wooden Leg at Sundown
The gypsy folk rockers continue their weekly stint at Sundown. Head out tonight to find out what exactly gypsy folk is. Spoiler alert: It's pretty good!
