The Homegrown Festival Adds The Polyphonic Spree, The Relatives and More.

A couple weeks back, the folks behind the fourth annual Homegrown Music and Arts Festival announced the first batch of bands slated to perform at their Saturday, May 1, affair at Main Street Garden Park — a list that included the Britt Daniel- and Dan Boeckner-fueled supergroup Divine Fits, plus Quiet Company, Larry g(EE), Burning Hotels, Zhora, Madison King and J. Charles & The Trainrobbers.

Today, organizers have announced six more acts slated to play the generally 15-act-long bill — and there are some big names included in this one, both literally and figuratively.

Dallas' own super-sized pop faux cult, The Polyphonic Spree, will join Divine Fits atop the bill — and good timing, too, as the fourth non-holiday-themed studio full-length, Yes, It's True, is slated for a May release.

Meanwhile, the Spree are joined in this round of announcements by three locals — venerable gospel funk outfit The Relatives, indie folk favorites The O's and rowdy country rockers Somebody's Darling — plus Austin country favorites Band of Heathens and Houston indie rock upstarts The Tontons.

Bill's rounding out pretty well, we'd say.

Advanced tickets for the festival are on sale for $17 (plus $1.75 in fees) right here.
