Check Out 17-Year-Old Dallas Rapper Josh Rand's Excellent New Video.
Josh Rand is 17. Josh Rand is from Dallas. Josh Rand is a rapper. Josh Rand often smokes weed on camera. Josh Rand doesn't give too many fucks.
But Josh Rand does have a nice flow — it's even got a little bit of an Earl Sweatshirt vibe to it — and it's paired nicely on the young fella's new “Untouchable” cut, what with its horn-sampling beat and all, the video for which (Rand's second) can be seen below.
This new clip's a nice one, directed by Jeff Adair because of course it is, and featuring a guest verse from A.Dd+'s Slim Gravy. Those are some nice co-signs, and they're not undeserved; Rand's a promising upstart and his youth should serve him well.
One word of warning, though, Mr. Rand: Maybe don't go running out to have Slim on your tracks moving forward. Just when this song's hitting its stride and we're ready to call you the Next Big Thing to watch in Dallas hip-hop, Slim shows up and steals a significant chunk of your shine, putting you back in your 17-year-old place with as impressive a non-A.Dd+ verse as he's ever dropped.
The thunder gets swiped a bit there at the end, that's all we're saying. Real nice track, though. Nice video, too.
