Britt Daniel and Dan Boeckner's Divine Fits To Headline Fourth HomeGrown Festival.

Last we heard from the crew behind the Homegrown Music and Arts Festival, we really didn't hear that much. We got a date (Saturday, May 11), a location (Main Street Garden Park once more) and a couple of teases.

The first of those teases: That some 15 bands, all with Texas ties, would make up the musical lineup. The second of those teases: That one of the festival's headliners would be making their Dallas debut at this show.

Today, we at least learn the identity of the band at the heart of that second tease, while also making our way toward making a dent in that first tease.

This morning, the folks behind the festival announced that Divine Fits, the supergroup formed by Spoon's Britt Daniel and Wolf Parade's Dan Boeckner, will be that group making their Dallas debut.

After forming in early 2012, that band released their debut LP, A Thing Called Divine Fits, in August of last year — and it's a strong effort, too, tastefully combining plenty of elements from each of these prolific songwriters' earlier works and then topping them off with a slightly more electronic sheen. They're a largely new entity, this is true. But when you've got Daniel and Boeckner on your side, you can generally expect some pretty great things. Also announced as part of the Homegrown bill today are Austin indie pop outfit Quiet Company and a handful of strong local acts, including Larry g(EE), Burning Hotels, Zhora, Madison King and J. Charles & The Trainrobbers.

Lastly, the festival also announced that advance tickets for their affair are on sale like right now for $17 (plus $1.75 in fees) right here.
