Plant Some Bad Seeds with Nick Cave.

In case you hadn't already heard: The Vatican has elected a new Pope, one Jorge Bergoglio of Argentina, who will now be known as Pope Francis I.

Whether you're religious or not, considering heading out tonight to celebrate. I mean just look at this list of stuff to do.

Thursday is indeed the new Friday.

Bad Religion at the House of Blues
One of the greatest punk rock bands of all time will make an appearance at the HOB tonight in support of their latest album, True North, which dropped earlier this year. While you’re here, maybe hop on up to the Foundation Room for Ruby Revue's Peep Show, too.

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds at the McFarlin Auditorium
That baritone songbird from down under makes a stop at SMU's McFarlin Auditorium tonight, pushing his latest release, Push the Sky Away. The newly released album has already garnered rave reviews, and Cave's live performances never disappoint.

Bex Marshall at Dan's Silverleaf
If Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix ever had an illegitimate child, it would be this incredibly talented U.K. songstress, who has been playing music ever since she was able to pick up a guitar. She's stopping in Denton tonight before heading down to SXSW.

The Dear Hunter and Naive Thieves at Club Dada
These melodious indie rockers from Rhode Island — not to be confused with Bradford Cox's Deehunter from Atlanta — will be hitting up Dada tonight promoting their fifth studio album, Migrant, which drops on April 2.

Clutch at the Palladium Ballroom
Hardcore metal enthusiasts will be pleased to hear of tonight's jam-packed line up, which features Orange Goblin, Lionize and Scorpion Child in addition to Clutch, who'll headline the shebang. Hope you're ready for some face melting!

Warren Jackson Hearne & Le Leek Electrique and Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band at Live Oak Music Hall
In the mood for some crazy, western-inspired death folk with hints of jazz and soul? Fort Worth's Live Oak has you covered with these two incredible bands that will blow your socks off. Check this show out if only to find out why we named Warren Jackson Hearne's “Death You're So Cold” one of our favorite local tracks from last year.

Bazaar of the Bizarre at The Crown and Harp
DJ Trigger Mortis will be upstairs in the old Cavern space, scoring the soundtrack to an evening of artistic absurdities and obscure oddities available for your purchasing pleasure. Sounds kind of creepy, right? That's the idea.

Hip-Hop Karaoke at The Crown and Harp
Always wanted to sing along to Master P's “Make 'Em Say Uhh!” but never been certain where in public you could pull off such a feat? Head on over to the Crown and Harp's downstairs venue tonight — and every second Thursday — for your chance to sing (or rap) to your heart's desires.

Less Than Jake at Trees
Bust out those checkered suspenders, bowler hats and prepare for a night of skanking down at Trees with Less Than Jake, who may indeed be less ska-oriented these days, but still.
